OVERVIEW The Advancing Data Value & Insights for Strategic Engagement (ADVISE) Institute prepares higher education leaders to ethically and effectively incorporate institutional data into strategy development, decision-making, and continuous improvement, all in service of student success. ADVISE is a curriculum-based experience that blends applied learning with leadership coaching, helping leaders build the skills, confidence, and collaboration practices needed to translate data into meaningful insights and sustainable institutional change. Participants leave with a clear, actionable plan for an Institutional Impact Project they can implement on their campus. Grounded in equity-centered practice and a commitment to transparency, ADVISE supports leaders in fostering campus environments that are student-ready, serving, and thriving. WHO ADVISE IS FOR ADVISE is designed for higher education leaders and practitioners who influence strategy and outcomes for students, including: –Student Affairs and Enrollment Management leaders –Equity, retention, and student success professionals –Academic Affairs leaders and department chairs –Institutional research, effectiveness and assessment leaders –Campus partners working alongside Institutional Research (IR) and Information Technology (IT) –Emerging and seasoned leaders from the operational to the executive levels that are ready to lead with both values and evidence Whether you’re new to using data or looking to deepen your practice, ADVISE meets you where you are and equips you to move forward with clarity and purpose. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN Participants will develop data-related skills and a practical framework to: –Use institutional data to inform strategy, decision-making, and continuous improvement –Strengthen data literacy and confidence when interpreting dashboards, reports, and trends –Build effective collaboration practices with Institutional Research and Information Technology partners –Translate data into compelling institutional narratives that elevate student success –Identify what data is needed, how to ask better questions, and how to avoid “performative metrics” –Design an actionable plan for institutional impact rooted in equity, belonging, and transparency THE ADVISE EXPERIENCE ADVISE is intentionally designed to be applied, relational, and immediately useful.
